THE DEATH OF A FRIEND; HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common sense.
Mr Sense had been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic shenanigins.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as fairness and truth. Common sense lived by simple , sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (parents, not children are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well meaning but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harrassment for kissing a classmate on the cheek, teens suspended from school for using a mouthmash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding a unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Mr. Senses health declined even further when schools were required were get parental consent to administer asprin to a student but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally , Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than the victims.
Common Sense could not go on when the leaders passed an important 2,000-page health care bill without knowing what was in it. The Speaker of the house informed the public that the contents of the bill would be known after the bill was passed.
And in another instance those very same leaders gave a standing ovation to a foreign president after he objected to one of the united states enforcing federal law.
And with his final breath, Common Sense asked why half the citizens of the United States do not pay ANY income taxes while the other half pays it all.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust,
his wife, Discretion,
his daughter, Responsibility
and his son, Reason.
He is survived by two stepbrothers, My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Sadly not too many people attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

THE TEA PARTY IS THE CONSCIENCE OF AMERICA

The Tea Party consists of Americans from all walks of life and from many political persuasions, Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian etc. and many, not very political at all. They are someone’s mom or dad; grandma or grandpa; sons and daughters just like countless millions of American families. They are of black, white, Hispanic, American Indian, eastern descent, you name it, but they all wear the same label “American Patriot” each and every one of them.

They are taxpayers and are all concerned about the direction their Country is headed; increased entitlements that bring higher taxes and more dependency while discouraging personal initiative; a burgeoning, Constitution flaunting, government that is intruding more and more into our daily lives and increasingly represents a threat to our basic freedoms; and the meddling with the free markets that has become an addiction to many in office.

They have felt the flame of liberty that burns in their hearts, and the fear that knots their bellies, that comes from the assault on that liberty.

Many Tea Partiers are veterans as I am. Many more are reaching their golden years and are concerned about what the future holds for Social Security and Medicare. They are demeaned by some, for being selfish and for only looking out for themselves. May I remind everyone that most folks have paid into the Social Security fund all of their lives and Medicare since it’s inception. It was a contract that the government broke in order to pay for benefits to children, the disabled etc. What was to be a safety net for retirees has become another great social program, another piggy bank for the Congress to pilfer.

They are not union busloads of agitators, they are not racists, they are not terrorists, they are not “Astroturf”; they are your friends, neighbors, families, colleagues, fellow Americans and their message is simple; Be fiscally responsible, observe Constitutional limits and allow the free market to prosper. And most of all; Quit messing with our Freedom and Liberty!

The Tea Party is the “Conscience of America”! Take this message back to your fellow members and encourage them to listen, because the great silent majority has found it’s voice, the Tea Party is your conduit to the pulse of America, the “We the People” of our great land.

The Tea Partiers are proud and responsible. They are exercising their duty to be vigilant and to protect and defend their freedom, which has not come free. Fortunately that defense can be conducted in the streets at rallies, going door to door and by phone and email to raise a great army to carry the fight to the ballot box on elections day. No longer do patriots have to scurry from tree to tree, dodging musket balls; just vile accusations and vicious, demeaning names hurled by those that would steal our liberty, pick our pockets and consign our children and their children to a lifetime of servitude.

IN UNITY LIES LIBERTY

Congratulations to all the primary nominees and thank you to all of the candidates, staffs, volunteers and supporters who fought so hard and participated in the electoral process which is a first step in preserving our freedoms.

Now comes the rub for some, to join forces and go on to win in the fall for liberties sake. It is a nearly unavoidable fact that in the heat of battle the rhetoric sometimes heats up as well. We must all remember that they are just words, oft times misspoken in the heat of passion, sometimes not, but none the less just words.

In Virginia and elsewhere we have elections every year, some states less often, yet little time remains between battles for hurt feelings to heal. The best course of action is to accept that it will happen time and again. Let it roll off like water on a ducks back. Liberty is too precious a thing to be forsaken by hard feelings and hurt, let them go, it is part of the political process whereby we vet out the strongest candidates to go on in the fall to battle the real enemy

Please don't sulk, but rather step up and help win the larger battle for freedom. Don't let your character or spirit be weakened, stay engaged, hone your skills and message, then return to try again next time. We must all count on each other, for only in unity does liberty prevail.

We have since made room for many classes of Resident Alien Immigrants and have afforded them most of the rights enjoyed by citizens and yet for some that is still not enough. The crux of the immigration issue today is not as hard core as Roosevelt's position but rather centers around the question of whether or not the entry was legal and have the requirements of the visa been followed. We are still a Republic, a nation of laws, is it so much to ask of those who want to come here and share the bounty to do it legally??
